Grim for football but…

Before the games, which Illinois and Navy lost, I got in a short workout.

Deadlift: (trap bar)

Low handle: 10 x 134, 10 x 184, 1 x 224
High handle: 1 x 274, 1 x 304 (easier than the 301 2 weeks ago), 1 x 274, 10 x 244
Low handle: 10 x 224 (out of position due to my wanting a photo and rushing before the timer went off.

Then a quick walk before the game; 13:56 second mile.

My shoulders are too far forward and my arms were bent. I did better than that with the 304 but when doing low handle stuff I need to be mindful to have a vertical path with straight arms. This is on the 10 x 224 set.

There is the 304: 2 45’s, 1 25, 1 10, 1 5 on each side plus the 44 lb bar. I really think I’ll get 3 big plates next time.

And yes, I know, for a 195 lb. guy this is weak. But in August 2019, I couldn’t even pull 225 with high handles. Yes, a lot of it is my body “learning” the lift.

The walk: not much, but something. No pain, but I don’t expect pain in a 2 mile walk.

Note: the glute is far from 100 percent but it felt good to roll on it a bit.
