From 2015 to 2018: the Chiefs made the playoffs every year, and even reached the league championship series in 2018. But then, 2019, 2021 and 2022 were grim on the field, and 2020 was cancelled.
Well, on Tuesday: both the Chiefs and the Timberrattlers lost; this cut the magic number to 2. The Chiefs loss was galling: they opened the bottom of the first with 3 runs off of 2 home runs. Then they didn’t score the rest of the night; the visiting Sky Carp had two 3 run innings, the second coming off of the second relief pitcher. 6-3 final.
Yesterday: the Timerbattlers lost again (to the league leading Cedar Rapids Kernels) and then the Chiefs clinched with a solid 3-0 win.
There weren’t THAT many to see it (but more than on most Wednesdays) and for the final out in the top of the 9’th, most of the crowd stood in anticipation.
I am just so happy for them. And proud of them too.
Yes, I did my part ..and kept in shape (sort of) to watch the games.
Wednesday; pull ups (53 reps..longest set was 8; some were chins), high incline presses (10 x 85, 10 x 90, 10 x 85) and high handle (4 inch) trap bar:
10 x 134, 10 x 184, 10 x 234, 10 x 261. Walked a quick (for me) Moss 2 mile afterward (28:07 for the 2.04 course) and then a slower commuter walk (2 miles at 15:46)
Today: usual PT and the 4.2 plus 1 mile in 1:11:15 (13:42). I was also relieved that I tested negative for COVID (sniffles, throat).
Back: has been pretty good this week.
