Adventure plus workouts

First, the workouts.

Saturday: PT plus a 5 mile walk; 5.25 miles (Cornstalk plus 1 mile) in 1:11:26.

Sunday: deadlifts (PT first) 10 x 134 4 inch, 10 x 134 low, 10 x 184 low, 10 x 234 4 inch, 10 x 261 4 inch. Belt squats: 2 sets of 10; second set was 88 plus pin = 96. Then a flat 4 mile walk; 4.1 in 58:26 (86 F, 55 percent)

Adventure:

with Harry. Part 1: Illinois State hosted Dayton from the Pioneer League. Well, from the opening drive…it was 31-0 at the half, 41-0 in the 3’d in a “clear the bench” type of game. No surprise.

Part 2: Illinois had a close call, rallying from 12-7 down in the half, 19-7 down in the 3’rd (75 yard drive at the start of the 3’rd), then 28-27 down with under 3 minutes to go in the 4’th, to win 30-28. Field goal was with 5 seconds to go.

Key plays: pick six to cut the deficit to 19-14 and then a key 4’th and 4 deep in their own territory. QB hit a key “out pattern for a big gain.

Still, the Illini got hammered for 400+ yards and made several key penalties; they should have lost that game.
