Ok, first PT and a walk: I did my “5 hill” 5 miles and change (plus an out and back to get over 5)

Good enough.
Ok, this was 90 seconds faster than the last time on this course, and my watch had 35:35 from the turn around to my house, which is ok, given that it was net uphill. I am approaching where I was before I went down with COVID…finally.
COVID and sports: I know that my situation is a bit different, given that my walking helps my spondylolisthesis but spondylolisthesis prevents me from building up too quickly, but COVID shut off 2 weeks of working out, then degraded my performance for February. I was not until the middle of April did I begin to feel like I did in December/January.
Moral: if you have a goal competition coming up (say, marathon, strongman, etc) part of your event preparation might be taking care to avoid COVID, as it has the potential to seriously degrade your preparation.
Baseball
Double header for me: Bradley at 10 am, Chiefs and 3 pm.
Ok, Indiana State had won the first 2 games in the series and had a 31-13 record with a win over no. 4 Vanderbilt. Braves: 14-27 record. And it went about as expected: 8-3 Sycamores though BU had an early lead. You have to hand it to ISU: their play was sharp, all around. BU: well, there was a case where there was 1 out, ISU had the bases loaded, and the Braves booted a perfect double play ball.
That didn’t make a difference in the game’s outcome (8-3 vs 7-3), but it was a lot of little things like that where ISU was better.
3 pm: Chiefs
The Chiefs won a tight game 2-1, to improve to 15-12, and the Chiefs have won 11 of their past 12 home games.
Their star got a triple after having a lead off home run last night.
I think I am gaunter.
Last night: The Chiefs won going away 7-3.

The Chiefs star lead off with a home run.

There WAS a rain delay (20 minute late start) and we’ve had a rather frigid spring so far, but, well, I was hoping for more in the stands on a Saturday. There WERE some groups in attendance, but the individual fan count is still rather weak, so far.
That is a shame because this team really is a lot of fun to watch, and I’ve really enjoyed all of the wins! Their record over the past 3 weeks among games I attended is 9-1. Record over the past 12 home games: 11-1.
I am hoping that better weather will lead more people to come and see for themselves.
